One step forward, ten steps back

Easily forgotten in a world full of clutter
You promised things wouldn't get any worse
But then they just never got any better

I can't let go of all the bitter facts
No one to love, no will to live
Your hands reach out for something
But I have nothing left to give

A growing ache to end this all
Is beginning to consume my mind
Tired of endlessly searching
For all the answers I cannot find
